Watch out for those Spur-of-the Moment Words that go on a Rampage and fill you with Regret?

The tongue that forms the invisible words we express is so tiny, but has so much power.

Proverbs suggests with urgency:

Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,  but those who speak rashly will come to ruin

You see what we say comes from within not without.

When I was doing a Research-Practitioner approach to my Masters at the university of Cape Town I facilitated three groups of children between the ages of 7 an 11 years to help them gain skills to adjust to their parents’ separation or divorce. The first part of the group process was to help children express their feelings not keep them inside, but to do so in ways that did not hurt or humiliate others. I loved this description of anger by a little girl of seven, she said:

‘Anger is like a balloon that keeps growing bigger and bigger inside me until it just bursts out of my mouth’.

If you are not clear and in control of your thoughts and your feelings, they control you – to bring life and purpose or damage and disaster. Words, and who we are inside can connect or divide, conquer or compulsively consume.
